How Lead Scoring Works
A simple, transparent points system that flags which leads look most worth following up first.
What it is
Every lead gets a score from 0–100, shown as Cold (0–29), Warm (30–59), or Hot (60+). It's a straightforward points total, not a machine-learning prediction — you can see exactly why a lead scored what it did:
- Has an email address: +20
- Has a phone number: +15
- Has a company name: +15
- Has a job title: +10
- Has notes: +10
- Source mentions "referral": +20, "website" or "event": +10, "cold call": +5
What it deliberately isn't
This is not a prediction of whether a lead will actually buy — it's a measure of how complete and (based on source) how promising a lead looks on paper. A cold-call lead with no email is genuinely less ready to act on than a referral with full contact details, and the score reflects that — but it's a prioritization aid, not a guarantee.
How to use it
The score recalculates automatically every time a lead is created or updated, so it always reflects the lead's current information. Use it to decide who to call first when you have more new leads than time — start with Hot, work down to Warm, and don't ignore Cold just because the label sounds discouraging.
