How Billing Works with PayFast

What PayFast is

PayFast is a South African payment gateway. When you subscribe to a plan, checkout is handled by PayFast — you can pay by card or EFT, the same as you would with most local online services.

Why PayFast rather than an international processor

Billing in Rand through a local gateway avoids the foreign transaction fees and unpredictable exchange-rate conversion that come with billing through a US-based processor — consistent with the whole system being priced and run for the South African market.

When you'll interact with it

Only at checkout, when subscribing to or changing a plan — day-to-day use of the CRM never routes through PayFast.

How it works

1. From Settings → Billing, choosing a plan redirects you to PayFast's secure checkout.
2. Complete payment there — your card or banking details are handled entirely by PayFast, not stored by Allsorts CRM.
3. On success, you're redirected back and your subscription activates.
4. Recurring billing and payment history are tracked automatically; you can manage or cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Billing — there's no annual lock-in.
