Understanding the Reports Page
The built-in panels — pipeline value by stage, won/lost trend, and the Deal Money Log rollup — and what each one actually measures.
What's on the Reports page
Four fixed panels, none of which need configuration: Open Deals by Stage (current pipeline value, grouped by stage), Won/Lost by Month (a trend table for the date range you pick), Deal Money Log (income/expense logged across all deals in range — see Tracking Money In and Out on a Deal), and Contacts by Owner (a simple headcount).
Why these four and not a dashboard full of widgets
These cover the questions a small sales team actually asks day to day — what's in the pipeline, are we winning more than we're losing, what's the team's contact coverage. A wall of configurable widgets looks impressive but mostly adds setup work before you see anything useful.
The date range
The From/To filter at the top applies to the Won/Lost table and the Deal Money Log panel — Open Deals by Stage and Contacts by Owner always show current, unfiltered state, since "what's open right now" isn't a date-range question.
When you need something these panels don't show
Use Custom Reports — build your own grouped breakdown of any record type instead of being limited to what's fixed here.
